24 Hour Comics: Alaska

Fairbanks Alaska is on-board again for the fourth year in a row!
Press releases are out, fliers and posters up, and reserved a display area at the university to put up pages afterwards. Lots of folks are checking in to the Facebook event page already, so turnout looks to the best yet.
Once again The Comic Shop is hosting our gig locally, and we are looking forward to another awesome event with many new and returning cartoonists.

Here’s linkage to a couple blog posts (here and here) about the 2009 event.

Artists’ Mediums Year #4

Rick Evans came up with this fantastic design for our 2010 event. We are hoping to raffle off the hand painted version off during 24HCD, to support the local food shelf here in Williston VT.

Looking forward to October with excitement and a bit of trepidation (this year, I’m finally going to sit and draw, not just help with organizing.)

at Artists Mediums Inc. in Williston Vermont…. With only hours left to go, the last few blurrily exhausted artists finish the final inking of their comics.
Many thanks to:
Bawls energy Drinks,

Julia and her mom Diana, back for round 2 after their break.

Here’s Jim, so immersed in his work he doesn’t notice the camera…

Jobeth, surrounded with pages upon pages & determined to finish.

Mr Robert Waldo Brunelle,Jr !

Karen and her awesome paint box set-up.

Rick and friends.

Geoffrey in mid-sketch…

Artists’ Mediums of Vermont checking in…

Kristin here again. We’re seven hours into the scribbling. A few have had to leave, but there’s still a strong core group plugging away.

I wanted to take a minute to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to one of our food sponsors, for I just came back on shift to find everyone happily fed by the folks over at the Vermont Sandwich Company here in Williston (802) 878-6963‎. VT Sandwich donated two platters of fantastic sandwiches, Wow! Thank you!
If anyone’s interested, I can heartily recommend the Crop Duster wrap.

Caffeine is sure to be the next step, so we’ll be cracking into our Bawls caffeine drinks soon.

Thanks also to Holbein for donating a huge stack of Maxon goodies for participants to use. The comic pattern sheets (wax transfer) are really wild, and it’ll be cool to see what they create with them. 340+ patterns!!!??!!! Too tempting.
