We are looking for the best 24-Hour Comics Day flyer this year to use as our official flyer and we know you have the right design!
We will take submissions of flyer designs between now and July 31st and the winner will become our official 24HCD flyer. The designer will be credited on the flyer and on 24hourcomicsday.com.
All submissions to the contest will be considered art donations to ComicsPRO. You retain the rights to your artwork but you are donating the design for ComicsPRO’s unlimited use (and the use of event hosts around the world!) for promotional purposes. We will not sell copies of your artwork.
The contest does not have a paid prize but ComicsPRO will send a thank-you package to the winner filled with comics and other goodies! Your artwork will also be used around the world!
Details for the flyer:
–It needs to print on an 8.5″ by 11″ sheet of paper (you should leave some border space)
–We need a color version and a black & white version
–“24-Hour Comics Day” should be prominent and readable, and you can use the logo if you want to include it. It must also promote the event date: October 2, 2010
–This flyer will be used by event hosts to advertise the 24HCD event to artists in their local areas, so your flyer should have some text describing what artists do during the event. An example would be:
“Take the 24-Hour Comics Day challenge: create a 24-page comic, start to finish, in 24 consecutive hours!”
(You can use your own text for the flyer as long as it describes the event.)
–The flyer must have blank space at the bottom for the event host to include their location information and other details. We recommend leaving a box at least 2″ tall that runs the width of the flyer but the exact dimensions are up to you.
Please send your flyer to 24hcd@comicspro.org. Please do not send files that are larger than 1MB. Since many high-resolution, printable designs will be larger than that, please consider sending a thumbnail of your design and link to the actual file.
Thank you for creating the best 24-Hour Comics Day flyer!
About donating to ComicsPRO:
ComicsPRO is a non-profit organization (501c6) but not a charity (which is a 501c3). So donations to ComicsPRO aren’t itemized as charitable donations. However, if you work in comics or design and you itemize your business expenses, a donation to ComicsPRO can be considered a business expense–please check with your accountant for the correct way to record your donation!
