Hours 2, 3, 4 and 5 from New Mexico

Hi Kids!

Back from picking up Jake, my son, and the official photographer for 7000 B.C. 24 HCD.

On the way back we stopped by his Mom’s store, Loveland Farms, New Mexico’s only drive through convenience store http://www.lovelandfarmsstores.com/. She donated a whole buncha stuff, and not just chips, either. Lunch meat and cheese and two loaves of bread, and all sorts of confections for our vigil. Thanks, Melissa!

Thanks also to Starbucks on the corner of Broadway and Lomas for their kind donation of sugar and sweeteners for our coffee and teas…

As promised, I have pictures:

Here’s Jeff, with the countdown for hour one…

Here’s the huge, cavernous room.

The room is so big, it takes 2 shots to get it all…

That’s me in my blogging corner in the back of the room.

More pics to come!

New Orleans 24 Hour Comics Day!

Our pre-24HCD event was a big success with local youth!

Over 20 youth participated in a morning of comic fun, from 10am to 2pm, at Whole Foods Market in Arabella Station. Cartoonist Eli Ivory gave free drawing lessons, comic books and other prizes to the young artists. Thanks to everyone who participated.

Here are a few photos of the artwork that was produced.

Artists’ Mediums of Vermont checking in…

Kristin here again. We’re seven hours into the scribbling. A few have had to leave, but there’s still a strong core group plugging away.

I wanted to take a minute to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to one of our food sponsors, for I just came back on shift to find everyone happily fed by the folks over at the Vermont Sandwich Company here in Williston (802) 878-6963‎. VT Sandwich donated two platters of fantastic sandwiches, Wow! Thank you!
If anyone’s interested, I can heartily recommend the Crop Duster wrap.

Caffeine is sure to be the next step, so we’ll be cracking into our Bawls caffeine drinks soon.

Thanks also to Holbein for donating a huge stack of Maxon goodies for participants to use. The comic pattern sheets (wax transfer) are really wild, and it’ll be cool to see what they create with them. 340+ patterns!!!??!!! Too tempting.
